Re Packet: I know which software to get down from the internet, and luckily for me it is free. Whether I'll be able to use it when I get it is another thing. We always have to worry as to whether or not software is "speech friendly", in other words, if it is accessible to our screen readers. But at least now I have a starting point, after being informed that PSK31, which I was going to use, is probably not very accessible for me.
There isn't really much more. The status quo is being maintained, in other words, things are as they have been for a while--we are ready, everything is in working order. We are going to start building the morse code rigs on April 3rd, finishing up, we hope, on May 1st. After that I will have a 40-metre CW transceiver, which might be useful in a real emergency, apart from being fun to have in the normal course of events. It will motivate me, as well, to improve my Morse code, which, actually, is not as good as I would like it to be. And really, that's it for this month.
Best regards, Shirley
