Short-wave Report - April 2003


Nothing really new to report this month. I am still controlling ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Section) nets but still haven't gotten up the courage to control the big one! If the need arises, though, I am pretty confident I would be able to swing into action with no difficulty. We still stand ready with the radio station for anything that may come our way. I have had a bit of trouble with the small rig, which seems to like to stop transmitting suddenly for no apparent reason, causing me to have to reset it, but I don't think there is anything seriously wrong. But of course it is the big HF rig that will be needed really so I am not overly concerned. But that's it for this month.
