Today, Thursday, July 1, 2004, the Sun rose in El Paso at 06:07 hrs, Azi 45°. Very red sky at horizon. A bright round area of brilliant light preceded the actual Sunrise by 2-3 minutes.
Skymap has the Sun rising at Azi 63°, a full 18° too far NORTH! Note, this has been observed in Wisconsin, also, approximate location of the rising Sun.
Yesterday, Thursday [Jul 8] in El Paso, about 23:15 hrs on the western horizon at Alt 10/15°, Azi 280/285° was this huge star/planet. At 15:15 hrs, the Sun was Alt 85°, azi 190° and very bright. Sun still rising 40/45° with much redness.
Skymap expects Jupiter to be at Azi 270, the Ecliptic HIGH by 10-15°. Skymap expects the Sun to be at Azi 240°, Alt 73°, thus too HIGH by 12° and Earth LEAN increasing so viewed toward the South. Skymap expects the Sun to rise at Azi 65°, and be moving to the South after the Solstice. For this reporter, as well as others, it has been moving further North at dawn.
